"A Journey Worth Taking: My Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Experience "

Image
Though I couldn’t officially complete the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the experience was unforgettable and full of personal growth. Our team trained for weeks after school, learning essential outdoor skills like setting up tents, cooking basic survival meals, reading maps, and most importantly, collaborating effectively under pressure. We also volunteered with primary school teachers, helping younger students with their learning. This experience taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of clear communication. For the physical section, I chose badminton as my weekly challenge. It not only improved my fitness but also enhanced my focus, coordination, and discipline. Our trial expedition took us to the stunning desert landscape of Zekreet, where we trekked for two days. We explored Film City, the Zekreet Peninsula, and the historic Zekreet Fort—each site revealing a unique facet of Qatar’s natural and cultural heritage. Despite the intense h...

"Cultural Day Chronicles: Team UK Takes the Stage"

Image
Cultural Day at the university was an unforgettable experience that tested our creativity, patience, and teamwork. Representing the United Kingdom, my friend and I spent an entire day gathering resources from red and blue decor to British snacks and drinks, all within a tight budget of 500 riyals . Our highlight was a handmade London telephone booth , a photo prop that instantly caught attention. The final two days were a whirlwind of painting, decorating, and assembling everything. However, on the final day , strong winds made setting up a nightmare; nothing seemed to stay in place, and decorations kept falling. It was far from what we had planned, but with teamwork and determination, we managed to pull it all together just in time. Although I felt we could have done much better without the last-minute chaos and delays, the experience taught me a lot, especially about planning, adaptability, and problem-solving under pressure . Seeing our UK-themed stall finally come alive and enjoy...

" Building an Airline: My Internship Experience at Riyadh Air "

Image
When I received the offer to intern at Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s soon-to-launch luxury airline, I knew it would be special—but I didn’t realize how transformative it would be. Over a few fast-paced months, I went from student to contributor, witnessing firsthand the creation of an airline from the ground up, and being part of a project that will soon reshape the region's aviation landscape. Placed in the Revenue Management department, I explored how data, pricing, and strategy shape commercial success. From dynamic pricing models and ancillary revenue streams to market segmentation and forecasting, every project deepened my understanding of how airlines turn insight into action. I also gained hands-on experience with cutting-edge systems like Sabre and Flyr, learning how technology powers every facet of modern aviation. Beyond technical skills, I learned the “language of aviation”—terms like GDS, NDC, and IATA’s Offer & Order model—concepts that are actively reshaping how t...
